FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a theme for the weekend?

Yes! The weekend's teaching will center on the topic of deconstruction, the process of re-examining the beliefs you were given as a child. We've seen teens doing this a lot recently and, if done with wisdom and compassion, the outcome can actually be a stronger, more authentic relationship with Jesus.

Is it okay if my child can't attend the entire event?

While we certainly prefer for students to be present for all aspects of the event, we understand that kids are busy these days and we'd rather them be here for some of it than no at all. Please indicate in the registration form the details of your child's comings and goings.

Does my child need to bring anything?

We will be providing with goodie bags that include a shirt, journal, writstband, and other fun stuff. So it would be helpful for your child to bring a drawstring backpack or something similar to secure their valuables. Please encourage your child to leave expensive items at home.

What are the breakouts about?

The breakout sessions on Saturday afternoons are designed to provide students with a "menu" of topics relevant to their faith development to choose from. Some possible examples might include topics like dealing with depression, faith vs science, how to study the Bible, etc.

Is this an overnight event?

Nope! United Weekend is a weekend event where students are picked up at the end of each day (10:30pm on Friday and Saturday; 12:30pm on Sunday). However, some friend groups do make arrangements to spend the nights together. We'll leave that to you guys!

Will my child be fed during the event?

Yes, we are taking care of the meals that fall during their time with us - so that's lunch and dinner on Saturday. Plus we'll have plenty on refreshments on hand. That said, your child should have dinner before arriving on Friday and breakfast before arriving on Saturday and Sunday.

Will students be offsite at any time?

Yes, high school students will participate in a service project offsite (in Littleton) on Saturday afternoon from roughly 1-3pm. We will take care of transportation for this project.

Will the event be video'd or livestreamed?

Although we will catch some live snippets of the weekend to be posted to social media and such, there will not be a livestream.
